Since it’s founding, HLG has had a deep commitment to helping and contributing to the welfare of the community. Perhaps the only firm in Korea that requires all of its attorneys to fulfill a minimum number of hours dedicated to pro bono work, we have a dedicated pro bono committee that supports and actively seeks out pro bono work and we have consistently maintained our commitment to pro bono work despite heavy workloads. In addition, we contribute a percentage of our revenue to charitable, civic and religious organizations each year and many of our attorneys hold leadership positions in various non-profit organizations and various civic movements.

HLG handles a variety of pro bono matters reflecting the needs of the community and the desires and interests of our attorneys. We provide free legal counsel to indigent or underrepresented groups including foreign workers and those who are physically disabled. In addition, we litigate cases ranging from women’s rights to discrimination to human rights abuses. Our commitment to the welfare of the community also extends to the corporate sector, where we are advocates of improved corporate governance.
